Getting around
- Audio guide: yes, 4 Euros, good and easy to handle, no verbal description
- App: no
- WiFi: no
- Wheelchairs: yes, free
- Art labels:
The labels in the “Monet to Picasso” exhibition are well printed and fairly good to read, unfortunately the wonderful works in the graphic arts department were not accessible for me at all – I had to take pictures of the labels and read them on my phone with my zoom on.
In other galleries the labels differ a lot from exhibition to exhibition, the labels at the staterooms are big and the numbers for the audio guide good to read, the text itself was not legible for me.
- Signs: good to read, with good contrast, restroom signs not always easy to find
- Light: depending on the exhibition, generally good light without too much glare
- Stairs and elevators: some of the stairs might be a bit tricky, escalators and elevators are good to use
- Ticket counter: on the left side inside the lobby, ask for discounts for VIP
- Coat check: on the right of the entrance
- Café: very nice
- Shop: a “must see”
Tip:
Visit the website before you actually go there to check for current exhibitions and other changes.
They also offer a very good online gallery of the artwork.
